A Wonderland Christening for Baby Brody

Four weeks to go…

Just four weeks ago we had a client approach us at Irlam Warburton Events who asked us to plan their fifth child’s Christening… yes baby five!! A beautiful baby boy.   As Cheshire Event Planners, we have recently planned a number of weddings, Christmas Parties, and Ladies Lunches and we were excited to be planning a different type of event – and one that we needed to plan and organise fast!

From our initial meeting, we knew what was important to the client. Firstly the décor was to have a ‘wintery’ baby blue theme and secondly that there needed to be children’s entertainment, which could keep kids of all ages happy so that their parents could enjoy the day. We instantly loved the theme and being constantly surrounded by little ones, we had plenty of ideas on how to keep the youngsters happy. We knew this was going to be a good one!

The Stunning Colshaw Hall…

The client had their fourth child’s christening at Colshaw Hall and loved it, so that was their desired venue for this Christening party too.  Colshaw Hall is a stunning country estate situated in Over Peover, Cheshire. The venue is simply divine, with the grand entrance and the venue being fully exclusive to you and your guests – whatever the event. It’s a venue that Irlam Warburton Events are very familiar with, we work very closely with the team, planning Cheshire events there and we know how to get the best out of it too!

So after four weeks of planning and organising, we put together a magical day for our clients and their family and friends.

Guests were greeted at the entrance by an abundance of white lanterns and glass candles with a snow effect to really set the scene, as after all first impressions are so important! To add to the opulence there was a stunning display of hydrangeas and blossom covering the entrance which guests stepped through to enter the drinks reception.

Once in the reception area, guests received a welcome drink in a white frosted champagne flute, which really added to the atmosphere. This area also doubled as a children’s game room, so everyone was immediately at ease and enjoying the Christening from the start.

It’s all about the details…

Every detail of the day had been thought about and the main banqueting area looked particularly fantastic. We had organised two narrow tables down the centre of the room which were both clothed in baby-blue and accompanied by clear ice Chiavari chairs. Chrome and baby-blue balloons lined the middle of the tables for centrepieces with ‘wow’ factor.

On either side of the tables were games to keep all age ranges of children amused… Formula One Chairs, PlayStation Screens, Table Football, Face Painters, Balloon Makers, Disney Princess & Spider-Man Characters, Sweetie Cart & ‘Selfie’ Mirror to keep them entertained throughout the day’s celebrations. That kept the little ones (and some of the grown-ups) happy throughout the event.

The children’s food was served first of course and then the adults were called to dine in the main Peel Suite. Guests entered the area through a large organic balloon archway to the bar area which then flowed into the main room.  The adult area featured round-tables, dressed in white velvet cloths, huge blossom trees, an array of floating candles, snowflakes and baby booties hung from the trees. So we continued with the ‘winter wonderland’ theme for the adults but albeit with a more sophisticated feel!

Dinner for the adult guests was a luxury carvery buffet style meal, there was a chose of three different types of meat and all the trimmings, along with a selection of Sunday favourite desserts, the clients requested a relaxed feel for their guests – with it being a Sunday christening after all! As the guests eat, the amazing Diamond Boys, roaming band serenaded the guest’s tables – with their fabulous range of music, taking requests on the spot from guests.

It was certainly a day to remember for everyone.

Our clients parting words were…

“A fabulous job by the girls at Irlam Warburton Events – all our family and friends had a fabulous day and it was perfect, thank you and we will be back with baby number 6”.
